Answers to January's Newsletter Trivia Questions!

1. According to legend what appears in every episode of Seinfeld?
Superman! According to rumor/legend Superman appears in every episode. Here are some tips on how to spot him from our friends at ehow.com.

2. Within 3 pounds how much does a million dollars worth of $100 bills weigh?
A Million dollars in $100 bills weighs about 22 lbs. So if you guessed anywhere between 19 and 25 - you got this one right! For more information and interesting facts about a million bucks visit here.

3. Bluebirds are color blind to what color?
File this one under IRONY - it's BLUE!

4. How do you test a cranberry for ripeness?
By bouncing it! A ripe, and not defective cranberry will bounce like a basketball. In fact, they use a bounce test to see if they're ripe or not, if they don't then they are discarded. Click Here to learn more.

If you want some great cranberry recipes check out the folks at Ocean Spray.

5. Which cost more: the filming of the movie "Titanic" or the actual Titanic ocean liner?
The movie cost more by a long shot! The movie cost $7.5 million to make and the film cost $250 million to make! In dollars adjusted for inflation the ship would have cost $400 million in today's dollars. But since our questions asked which cost more, the only correct possible answer would be the movie since there was no mention of "adjusted for inflation". More information on the Titanic movie and ship is here.

Interesting fact about researching game show questions.

Researching questions for a game show isn't quite as easy as picking up a trivia book and listing a bunch of questions.

One of the things that sets Game Shows To Go apart from other game show companies is that we fully understand how important the integrity of the game is. We're not usually playing for thousands of dollars, but it's still important that everyone feels the game is run fairly.

We pay attention to the little details like the questions. For a question to make it into our games there must be only one correct answer. For the examples listed above the third question, about the Bluebird not being able to see Blue - that questions will MOST of the time be answered either absolutely wrong, or with the answer Blue. However, there are many other colors within the spectrum of colors that the Bluebird cannot see that would also possibly be correct, therefore the question, as phrased here, would not make it into one of our shows.

We could, however, rephrase the question to something like this. "Ironically, what color are Bluebirds color blind to?". The implication of irony would eliminate colors other than blue as it would not be ironic at all if the Bluebird could not see green.

When we pay attention to such little details - you can rest assure that the larger parts of our shows are taken care of 100%!

We look forward to working with you.
